Building codes are often identified as barriers to bringing new technologies and processes to the building industry. This session will explore how codes and standards can, and are, enabling innovation for things like off-site construction and sustainability.
Ryan Colker is Vice President, Innovation at the International Code Council where he directs the Center of Focus on Energy, Resilience and Innovation. Previously, Colker served as Vice President at the Congressionally-established National Institute of Building Sciences and as Manager, Government Affairs at ASHRAE. He is the editor of Optimizing Community Infrastructure: Resilience in the Face of Shocks and Stresses.
